Forwarding Setup Guide

Route after-hours calls to Cleo in minutes

Use this guide for AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Google Voice. Carrier menus change often, so always place a live test call after setup.

Quick checklist

  • 1. Turn on forwarding to your Cleo number.
  • 2. Place one test call from another phone.
  • 3. Confirm the call appears in your Cleo dashboard.
  • 4. Save your disable code or toggle path for morning handoff.

AT&T

Best for wireless and traditional business lines.

  1. Dial *72 plus your Cleo forwarding number, then tap call.
  2. Wait for the confirmation tone or message, then hang up.
  3. Run one live test call from a different phone.
  4. Turn forwarding off with *73 when you want to stop forwarding.

Notes

  • -If star codes do not work on your plan, set forwarding in your myAT&T account or call AT&T support.
  • -Some plans support conditional forwarding (busy or no-answer only). Ask AT&T support for your exact code set.

Verizon

Fast setup if you use full-time or after-hours forwarding.

  1. Dial *72 plus your Cleo forwarding number for immediate forwarding.
  2. Use *71 if you prefer conditional forwarding (busy or unanswered calls).
  3. Place a test call and confirm Cleo answers.
  4. Use *73 to disable forwarding.

Notes

  • -Codes can vary by device or business plan. Verify your forwarding mode in My Verizon if a code fails.

T-Mobile

Works well for mobile-first service businesses.

  1. Dial *72 plus your Cleo forwarding number to forward calls.
  2. Confirm with a quick test call from another phone.
  3. Disable forwarding with *73 when needed.
  4. For conditional/no-answer behavior, use your T-Mobile account settings if available.

Notes

  • -Code behavior may differ by plan and region. If needed, use the T-Life app or contact T-Mobile support for your line-specific forwarding commands.

Google Voice

Good if your business number is already on Google Voice.

  1. Open Google Voice settings (web or app).
  2. Add Cleo as a linked forwarding number and verify it.
  3. Turn forwarding on for Cleo during after-hours.
  4. Turn forwarding off again at open hours (or keep it on if Cleo handles all calls).

Notes

  • -Google Voice menus can differ by Workspace/admin setup. If you do not see linked number controls, check your admin policy or Google Voice Help.
